Summer is a wonderful time to slow down, relax, and have fun! Our summer ADVANCE! programing lets children do just that! No bell schedules, no text books. We set the stage with big questions that will leave kids scratching their heads trying to find an answer! They’ll want to explore, and investigate, and …play!
Yes, PLAY! We’ve stopped to ask ourselves how have things changed for kids since the pandemic. And it’s come down to bring back play into learning. It seems so simple! But, we have seen kids struggle in learning, feeling like they have no starting place, no direction forward, and no way to finish what has been asked of them. The answer to this is create open spaces where kids can play and draw their own conclusions and understandings of the world. Our summer offerings put play first!
Inclusive Summer Day Activities for Grades 4-8ish
We’re happy to be offering our STEAM focused activities for the summer. We’ll be hands-on investigating! Our teaching style at IES is built to be inclusive from the ground up. Language supports, writing supports, to-do / scheduling, and social-emotional regulation supports are there for everyone! Please reach out if you need any specific accommodations!
Our investigations will be appropriate for upper elementary and middle school students based upon content. We’ll support all learning needs, including supports for different math levels!
