Yes… but not just to look good on an application. Calculus is the creme de la creme. The bow on all of math. The ribbon that makes all of math come together. In short: calculus brings the beauty of the universe into a few simple ideas.
It’s rather shocking that it can be so simple. But, what you’ll gain is in depth analytical skills. An understanding of synthesis, hierarchy, and comparisons. These skills transcend the subject matter and help you in your daily life! (And the comparisons of rates will help you understand that awkward thing of your car being next to another car at the same speed.)
Class Goals
Our class will be conceptual based, aligned to the AP AB test. However, we will push the limits (pun most definitely intended) and build conceptual understanding of math to its real word connections in science. Students will be prepared to take the mid-May test and ready to start using Calculus in everyday life.
